Parent & Co-Parent Coaching
Understand What’s Happening Beneath the Behavior
Parenting has a way of bringing our own patterns to the surface. We may know how we want to respond to our children, but in difficult moments, stress and reactivity can quickly take over.
Parent coaching offers a place to slow those moments down, understand what may be driving them, and create more choice in how you respond.
Parenting rarely comes with clear answers.
You may be navigating a difficult stage with your child, struggling with behavior or big emotions, or finding yourself reacting in ways you don’t fully understand.
Every behavior serves a function.
Rather than focusing only on changing your child’s behavior, we get curious about what may be underneath it. We look at the larger picture—what’s happening within your family, what gets activated in you as a parent, and how your own experiences may be shaping the way you respond.
For parents navigating a co-parenting relationship, we can also look at the patterns between you and your co-parent and how those dynamics affect the way you parent.
The goal isn’t to become a perfect parent. It’s to understand yourself well enough to respond more intentionally when parenting gets hard.
Where Coaching Can Help
Behavior & Big Emotions
Understand what may be happening beneath difficult behavior and become more aware of what it brings up in you.
Parenting Reactivity
Notice the moments that pull you into frustration, anxiety, overfunctioning, or conflict—and understand what may be driving your response.
Communication
Look at the patterns shaping conversations with your child, teen, or co-parent and what happens when communication breaks down.
Co-Parenting Conflict
Better understand the dynamics between you and your co-parent while keeping your child’s needs at the center.
Life & Family Transitions
Navigate divorce, blended families, school changes, adolescence, or other transitions and the new dynamics they can create.
What to Expect
-

Start With What's Happening
We begin with what feels difficult right now, what you’re noticing in your family, and what you want to better understand.
-

Look Beneath the Behavior
We look beyond the immediate problem to understand what the behavior may be communicating or accomplishing, along with the patterns and relationships surrounding it.
-

Understand Your Response
We pay attention to what gets activated in you as a parent, where those responses may come from, and how they affect what happens next.
-

Create Space to Respond Differently
As the patterns become clearer, we work on creating more space between what happens and how you respond—giving you the opportunity to practice a different response rather than automatically returning to a familiar one.
Over time, you may begin to notice:
Greater awareness of your own patterns and reactivity
More space between what happens and how you respond
A clearer understanding of what may be driving your child’s behavior
More thoughtful communication with your child or co-parent
Greater ability to stay grounded when emotions run high
More confidence in your own parenting decisions
