Frequently Asked Questions

It means looking at the bigger picture. The challenges that bring you to therapy—whether anxiety, relationship conflict, or feeling stuck—rarely exist in isolation. They’re often connected to relationship and family patterns that have developed over time.
My work is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory, which helps you understand these patterns, your role within them, and how you might begin responding differently.

The ways we learn to relate to others in our families often show up in other areas of our lives—with partners, friends, colleagues, and even a boss.
Understanding where these patterns come from isn’t about blame or dwelling on the past. It’s about seeing yourself more clearly so you have more choice in how you respond.

No. Family systems therapy doesn’t require your family to be in the room. I work with individuals, although family members may occasionally join if it would be useful.
One person becoming more aware of their own patterns and changing how they respond can shift the dynamics of an entire relationship.

I work with adults 21 and over, couples, and parents, including co-parents navigating separate households. I’m licensed to work with clients in New Jersey and New York.

Collaborative and curious. You bring your experiences, and together we make sense of what’s happening and decide where to focus.
I won’t tell you what to do. Instead, we’ll slow things down, look beneath the surface, and become more aware of the patterns shaping how you think, relate, and respond. The goal is not to become someone different, but to have more choice in how you show up.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Because benefits vary by plan, I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your out-of-network coverage, deductible, and reimbursement rates.
